Bamboo Based Activated Carbon

Bamboo activated carbon is a type of activated carbon made from bamboo. It is made by carbonizing bamboo or bamboo processing residues (such as bamboo shavings and bamboo powder) at high temperatures and activating them (physical or chemical methods) to create a porous carbon material with a large specific surface area and strong adsorption capacity.

Applications:

1. Industrial Environmental Protection:

• Waste Gas Treatment: Adsorbs VOCs (such as benzene and toluene) and odorous gases (such as H₂S), achieving a penetration rate of 41% in waste gas treatment for the chemical and coating industries.
• Wastewater Treatment: Removes dyes, pesticides, and heavy metals, with an adsorption capacity of up to 495 mg/g for phenol and a COD removal rate exceeding 80% in treated water.

• Gas Storage: Its microporous structure enables efficient adsorption of CH₄ and H₂, making it suitable for use in natural gas vehicle tanks and hydrogen fuel cell storage systems.
• Supercapacitors: Phenolic resin-modified bamboo activated carbon exhibits excellent cycling stability in two-electrode systems, making it a promising alternative to traditional activated carbon electrodes. Medical and Food Applications:
• Pharmaceutical-grade applications: Bamboo activated carbon with a purity of > 99.9% is used for hemoperfusion, adsorbing uremic toxins and drug overdose residues. The export unit price is 35% higher than standard products.
